[bestificado]

・eatar又はficar bestificado  = to be dumbfounded, be amazed

あきれてものが言えないほどにびっくりする。

Ex. A moça ficou bestificada quando viu o namora- do com outra.

その娘は彼氏が他の女といるのを見て、言葉を失うほど驚いた。

[bezerra]

・pensar na morte da Bezerra  = be up in the clouds, have day-dreams, be lost thought, muse on[over, upon], be woolgathering , be  miles away, be in a brown

study, day-dream  ぼんやりする、考え事をする。

[bezerro]

・chorar como um bezerro desmamado  おいおい泣く。

[biaba]

・a biaba  = the beating, drubbinh, licking; fight  殴る、打つ; 戦う。

Ex. Levou uma biaba quando o moço entrou no cabaré.

青年がキャバレーに入った時、殴られた。

[biblioteca]

・a biblioteca viva  = the walking encyclopedia, very learned person

生き字引、物知り。

Ex. Aquele estudante sabe tudo--- é uma biblioteca viva.

あの学生は何でも知っている。生き字引だ。

[biboca]

・a biboca ※

※語源はtupi語から。 = the small bar  ちっぽけな酒場

Ex. Vamos tomar um chope perto da praia. 海岸近くのバーで生ビールを飲もうぜ！

[bicar]

・bicar  = to sip or nibble at  ちびちび飲む、すする。

[bichano]

・o bichano  = the kitty, pussycat, kitten  子猫。

Ex. Que bichano bonito！  Caça camundongo？

まぁ、なんて可愛らしい子猫なんだろう！ハツカネズミを捕らないのかい？

[bichão]

・o bichão  = the ace, whiz, champ; friend, pal  エース、スター(＝craque) 友人。

[bicharada]

・a bucharada　　= group of friend　仲間、連れ。

[bicheiro]

・obicheiro　=the bookie, bookmarker, (ブラジルのjogo-do-bichoの胴元)

[bichinho]

・meu bichinho  = my darling, sweetie, dear 愛おしい人。

[bicho]

・matar o bicho  = wet the pipe, have a drink, wet the whistle, take a

gulp, take a snort  酒を飲む。

・Que bicho [foi que]te

mordeu？  = What are you looking so blue about？, What’s wrong with you？

どうしてそんなに不機嫌なのですか？

・ser um bicho em  = be an adept at, be an expert at

[beirada]

・a beirada  = one’s cut, share  分け前、取り分。

Ex. Cadê a minha beirada？  私の取り分は？

[Belacap]

・a bela capital Rio de Janeiro 「麗しの都リオ・デ・ジャネイロ」の略。

Ex. Minha família vai passar uma temporada de férias na Belacap.

私の家族はリオで時を過します。

[beleléu]

・o beleléu = the jail, clink, poky  刑務所、監獄、留置所(=cadeia)。

・bater o beleléu  = to die, kick the bucket  死ぬ。

●= ir para o beleléu, bater as botas.

※ir para o beleléuには「失敗する」=entrar pelo canoの意味もある。

・mandar para o beleléu  = to tell where to go, tell to get lost

追い払う、厄介払いする、首にする;軽んじる。→=mandar às favas(fava)。

[beleza]

・estar de Beleza  = to be loafing, be taking it easy, not lift a finger

のんきに構える、あせらない、何もしないで気楽にやる。

Ex. O flano estava de beleza enquanto os amigos davam um duro.

某氏は、友人たちがあくせく働いていた間、何もしないで気楽にしていた。dar um duro→一生懸命に働く。

・Que beleza！  = How pretty！What a lovely sight！

何と素晴らしい、(景色が)美しいのでしよう！

Ex. Que beleza！Você é um fotógrafo de mão-cheia.

何と見事なこと！君は一流の写真家だ。

※ de mão -cheia→一流の。

・que é uma Beleza  = beautifully, splendidly,well  見事に、素晴らしく、よく。

Ex. Michiyo fala português como aeromoça que é uma beleza.

美智代はCAとしてポルトガル語を見事に話す。

・beleza não põe mesa  = beauty butters no parsnips 口先だけの言葉では役に立たない、どんなに口が達者でも実が伴わなければ無意味である。

[bel-prazer]

・ao bel-prazer  = at whim  気まぐれのままに、思いつきで、突然。

・a seu bel-prazer  = at one’ own sweet will   自分の意思がままに。

[bem]

・a bem da verdade  = honest to goodness  本当に、正真正銘の。

・a bem de  = for the sake of, in behalf of, for the good of  〜のために。

・achar por bem  = see fit  〜するのをふさわしいと思う、適切だと考える。

・bem como  = as well as  〜と同様に。

Bem, e agora？  =well, what then？  さて、次は？

・Bem, e daí？  = Well, what of that？

それがどうした？だから何なんだ？だから何だって言うんだ？

・bem menos que  = not nearly as  全く〜ではない、〜に比べてずっと〜でない。

・Bem, que tal？  = Well, what do you know？  まさか、そんなことが。

・fazer o bem  = do good  役に立つ、良い結果をもたらす、効く、善行する。

・fazer o bem sem olhar

a quem  = cast one‘s bread upon the waters, do good for its own sake

みがえりを期待しないで親切な行いや善行をする。

・ficar de bem com alguém  = make up with someone  誰かと仲直りする。

・haver又はter por bem  = decide, determine, deem advisable, see fit

決める、決定する、適切だと思う、考える、望ましいと考える。

・Não há bem que sempre dure nem mal que se não(nunca se)acabe  = after the rain the sun shines , after a storm a calm, every cloud has its silver linig

悪いことの後には良いことが起きる、雨のち晴れ、どんな困難な状況でも必ず良い面や希望が起きる。

・estar com bicho-carpinteiro  = have ants in the pants  不安や興奮あるいはエネルギーがあまっていて、落ち着かない、そわそわしている、じっとしていられない。

●= ter bicho-carpinteiro

[bicho-de-sete-cabeças]

・fazer um bicho-de-cabeças  = make a mountain out of a molehill, make heavy weather of, make an affair of something, make too much a song and dance of something, make a fuss

About  些細なことを大袈裟にいう、騒ぎ立てる、〜について騒ぎ立てる。

Ex. Não faz um bicho-de-cabeças, que o caso não é para tanto.

問題はそれほどでもないので、騒ぎ立てることもない。

[bicho-do-mato]

・o bicho-do-mato  = the extremely shy person, shrinking violet

引っ込み思案で内気な人、出しゃばらず控え目な人。

Ex. Meu irmão mais velho é muito expansivo, mas irmão mais novo é verdadeiro bicho-do-mato.  兄貴はとても開放的であるが、弟はまさしく内気である。

・dois bicudo não se beijam  = when Greek meets Greek, then comes the tug of

War  ある力のある人物や専門家が互いに協力したり、互角の相手同士が競い合ったりする時を指す。

[biela]

・bater a biela  = kick the bucket, turn up one’s toes  死ぬ、亡くなる。

●=bater a(s) bota(s)

[bife]

・bife a cavalo  = a beefsteak with eggs on top

玉子をトッピングしたビーフステイキ。

・dar um bife  = land a blow, slap someone

物理的に相手に一撃を加える、大打撃を与える。

[bigorna]

・entre a bigorna e o martelo  = in a bad fix, in a scrape,between the devil and the deep blue sea, between the the devil and the blue sea water

どっちに転んでも難しい状況にある。

[bilhete]

・dar o bilhete azul  = fire, give someone his walking papers, dismiss,

discharge, give a pink slip  解雇通知を出す、首にする。

Ex.O presidente falou que vai dar o bilhete azul a quem encontrar cochilando no serviço.  社長は、仕事中に居眠りしている者は首にする、と話した。

・ele(ela) é bilhete corrido  = he is a married man, she is a married woman

彼(彼女)は既婚者である、結婚している。

・escrever um bilhete  = pen a note  メモや簡単な手紙を書く。

・receber o bilhete azul  = get fired, get the sack ,be dismissed, get a pink

slip,   首になる、解雇通知を受け取る。

Ex. O preguiçoso recebeu o bilhete azul logo depois da semana de ouro.

その怠け者は黄金週間の直後に解雇通知を受け取った。

・tirar um bilhete branco(loteria)  = draw a blank (lottery)  外れくじを引く。

・descarregar a bílis  = vent one’s spleen  鬱憤を晴らす。

[biônico]

・biônico  = artificial, unauthentic,illegitimate, fabricated,contrived

本物でない、偽の、不誠実な、作られた、不自然な、わざとらしい、不正な。

[biquinho]

・fazer (um) biquinho  = pout  ふくれっ面になる、口をとがらせる、不機嫌になる。

[birita]

・a birita  = the cachaça; booze  カシャサ; お酒、アルコール。

Ex. Os estudantes passaram a noite em claro emcando birita.

学生たちは火酒を空けながら、一晩中寝ないで過ごした。

passar em a noite em claro→寝ないで夜を明かす

[biriteiro]

・o biriteiro  = the drunkard, souse  酔っ払い、大酒飲み。

●= cachaceiro

[birosca]

・a birosca  = the cheap grocery store or saloon  (特にファヴェーラにある)安い食料雑貨屋、酒場。

Ex.A gente sempre compra cerveja na birosca que está lá esquina.

私たちはいつもあの角にある安価な酒場でビールを買います。

[biriuta]

・biruta  = crazy, mad, nutty  頭がおかしい、どうにかしている。

Ex. O cara ficou biruta de tanto olhar a lua.

その男は月を何度も見てはおかしくなった。　

●=biruto

[birutice]

・a birutice  = the crazy action, craziness

狂気、精神異常、馬鹿げていること。狂騒。

Ex. Quem aguentaria as birutices do cara？

あいつの馬鹿げたことを誰が我慢できるだろうか？

・de (por)birra  =for spite, out of spite  意地悪から、意趣返しで。

・estar de birra com alguém  いじめる、弱い立場の人をからかう。

・fazer birra  = whine, cry frequently on small provocation

駄々をこねる、癇癪を起こす。

・tomar birra de (por) alguém  = take a strong dislike to someone

〜を毛嫌いする、〜を目の敵にする。

[biruto]

・biruto  =crazy, mad   頭がおかしい、どうかしている。

●=biruta

[bisbilhotar]

・bisbilhotar  = to gossip, pry, snoop, be nosy  人のうわさ話を詮索する。

[bisbilhoteiro]

・o bisbilhoteiro  = the gossiper, busybody, snoop

うわさ話をする人、おせつかいな人、他人のことに干渉しすぎる人、陰口をたたく人。

Ex. Aquele bisbilhoteiro se preocupa apenas com a vida alheia.

あのうわさ話をする人は、人様の生活だけに関心をはらう。

[birra]

・de (por)birra  = for spite, out of spite  悪意や意地悪から、意趣返しで。

[bisbilhotice]

・a bisbilhotice  = the gossip, rumor, hearsay; snooping, snoopiness

うわさ、風説; 詮索好きなこと、干渉すること。

[bisca]

・bater a bisca  = kick the bucket, turn up one’s toes, pop off  死ぬ。

●=bater a(s) bota(s)

・Ele é uma boa bisca  = he is a rogue, he is not worth a rap, he is a worth-

less person, he is not worth his keep, he is a scoundrel

彼はろくでなしである、価値がない、悪党である。

[biscate]

・o biscate  = the part-time, supplementary

片手間仕事、副業、内職、パートタイム、アルバイト; 売春婦。

●= bico

Ex. Aquele sujeito vive de biscate.  あの男はアルバイトで生計を立てている。

・fazer um biscate  = do an odd job  アルバイトをする、片手間仕事をする。

・viver de biscates  = make a living at odd jobs

アルバイト[内職、副業、片手間仕事]で生計を立てる。

・bistolado　= narrow-minded, close-minded, intolerant, bigoted, square

狭隘な、狭量な、

Ex. O meu chefe da empresa é tão bistolado que nem quer ouvir a opinião dos outros.  私の会社の上司は心が狭く、他の人たちの意見さえ聞きたがらない。

[bizu]

・o bizu =the key (to a test), answer sheet; the tip, pointer, low-down, clue

(テスト)鍵、合格、成功する秘訣、重要な要素、答案用紙; ヒント、手がかり。

・dar o bizu  = to show someone the the ropes, give someone the low-down

人にこつややり方を教える、人に〜の実情を話す、真相を教える、内幕を知らせる。

●=dar a 又はuma dica

・qual é o bizu？ = what’s the low-down？, what’s new？what’s up？,

what’s on the agenda？本当の内幕は何ですか？最近どう？議題、予定は何ですか？

Ex. Qual é o bizu, amigo？ 友よ、調子はどうだい？

・bizurar =to coach, give hints to, supply with clues

ヒントを与える、指導する、手がかりを与える。

Ex. Ninguém me bizurou

antes da prova, mas saí bem mesmo assim.  誰も私に手がかりを与えてはくれなかったけれども、にもかかわらず、実にうまくいった。

※sair bem=うまくゆく、成功する

※mesmo assim=にもかかわらず

[blá]

・bater um blá  = shoot the breeze, chew the fat, chatter

だべる、気楽におしゃべりする、世間話をする。

・ meter um blá  = try to dupe someone with cheap talk

安っぽい言葉で人を騙そうとする。

・ ter blá = to have the gift of gab, be a good talker; have charm

雄弁で、人を引きつける話術に長けている、話上手な;魅力がある。

Ex. A garota não é muito bonita, mas tem blá.

その娘はさほど綺麗ではないが、魅力がある。

●=ter plá

[blablablá]

・o blablablá = the idle talk, chitcha  無駄な、馬鹿な、意味のないおしゃべり。

[blefar]

・blefar = to bluff; deceive

はったりをかける、空威張りをする、見せかけで人を騙す;欺く、ペテンにかける。

Ex. Eu topo a parada, porque acho que você está blefando.

お前ははったりをかけていると思うから、おれは挑戦に応じるよ。

●topar a parada=挑戦に応じる

Ex. Blefou o banco, essa bancária fugiu com o lucro.

銀行を欺いて、その女性銀行員は儲けを持ってトンズラした。
