[bandeira]

・arriar a bandeira　=strike [the]flag, strike the colours　降参する。

・dar bandeira　=to give oneself away, tip　one’s hand, attract(un-

wanted)attention, be conspicuos or indiscreet

うっかり秘密・計画などを明かす、隠すべきことを明らかにする。

Ex. O fraudador deu bandeira e foi preso. 詐欺師は秘密を明かし、捕まった。

・dar uma bandeira =to make a slip-up, make an error, botch up everything

間違う、誤る、見落とす。

●=dar um fora。大失策をやらかす→dar um grande fora.

・dar uma bandeira em = to give the brush-off to,get rid of, tell of, answer

Gruffly そっけなく(つっけんどんに)応える、人の願いを聞き入れない、〜に反対する;しくじる、へまをする。

●=dar o fora em

[bandola]

・dar bandolas =roam, wander  さまよう、ぶらぶら散歩する。

・dar uma bandola  =go for a turn, go for a stroll, take a walk

ぶらぶら歩く、散歩する。

[bandido]

・trabalhar de bandido contra  = to work against, act against the interests of

〜に対して謀反を起こす。

Ex. O amigo-da-onça trabalhou de bandido contra mim, sujando a minha barra com a namorada.   不実な友は、恋人を窮地に陥れながら、僕に対して謀反を起こした。

※sujar a barra=窮地に陥る、陥れる、気まずくなる。

[bangue-bangue]

・western, the cowboy movie  ウエスタン、西部劇(映画)

Ex. Os meninos do bairro são loucos pelos bangue-bangue.

その地区の男の子たちはウエスタン映画に夢中である。ser louco por=〜に夢中である、大好きである。 estar louco para〜→  〜したくてたまらない。

Ex. Estou louco para revisitar o sertão nordestino.

僕は北東部奥地を再訪したくてたまらない。

[banha]

・criar banhas  =put on fat, put on weight, grow fat  脂肪がつく、太る。

[banhar-se]

・banhar-se em água de rosa  = to gloat, have been proven correct

非常に自己満足する、ほくそ笑む。

Ex. O aliado banhou-se em água de rosa, quando o inimigo foi vencido.

敵が敗れた時に、味方はほくそ笑んだ。

[banho]

・banho de língua  =the cunnilingus or fellatio

フェラチイオもしくはクニリングス

・banho de sangue  =blood bath  血の粛清、大量殺戮。

・dar um banho(s) de  =show, display, give clear evidence of

見せる、表示する、明らかな形跡を示す。

・dar um banho em  =①to trounce, drub, slaughter ②to double-cross, betray

①ひどく打つ、殴る、完敗、惨敗させる。②裏切る、だます。

①Ex. Os Los Angeles deu um banho em Leds na paetida de hoje.

今日の試合で、ロス・アンジェレスはレッヅを惨敗させた。

②Ex. Aquele maconheiro deu um banho nos companheiros, dando o serviço à polícia.  あの麻薬常習者は、警察に[犯罪行為を]白状しながら、同僚たちを裏切った。dar o serviço=悪事、犯罪行為を白状する。

・tomar banho de banheira (de imersão)   =take a tub bath

たらい、桶で身体を洗う。

・dar um banho  = outdo a team or someone easily, give the opponent a shellacking   圧勝する、楽勝せる、完勝する。

・tomar um banho de chuveiro (de chuvã)  =take a shower シャワーを浴びる。

・Vá tomar banho！  =Go to hell！Leave me alone！Go and eat cake！

Go chase yourself！  ほっといておくれ！

[banho-maria]

・botar 又はcozinhar em banho-maria  = to put (someone)off,  stall(someone),give the run-around  言い逃れを言う、うまく言い抜ける。

Ex. Há quase um ano que estou tentando entrevistar-me com o reitor da universidade, mas ele continua me cozinhando em banho-maria.

ほぼ一年私は大学の総長と面談を試みているが、彼は言い逃れを言い続けている。

[banzé-de-cuia]

=kick up a fuss, kick up a row   騒ぎ立てる、不平を鳴らす。

[barata]

・entregue às baratas  =abandoned, uncared for,  neglected, gone to the

Dog   見捨てられた、駄目になった、ほったらかしの。

Ex.O trator estava entregue no arrozal. トラクターが稲田にほったらかしであった。

・feito barata tonta  =disoriented, confused,like a chicken with its head cut off   まごついた、混乱した。

[barato]

・Que barato！  =What a gas！What a trip！  何と素敵なんでしよう！

Ex. Música linda. Que barato！  きれいな音楽。何と素敵といったら！

・ser um barato  = to be for-out, be terrific,be a trip

素晴らしい、ものすごく素敵である。

Ex. Passar toda semana (=a semana toda) no Rio de Janeiro é um barato.

まるまる一週間、リオで過ごすのは何とも素晴らしい。

・tirar um barato  =① to get stoned, get high　② to act anobbish, put on airs

①[ドラッグに]ラリっている。②気取る、偉そうにする。

Ex. ②Essa cafona vive tirando um barato. そのださいな女はいつも気取っている。

●②=tirar [uma ] onda

[barba]

・botar 又はpôr as barbas de molho  = to take precautions, be cautious, be on one’s guard　　用心する、予防する。

Ex.Bote as barbas de molho, moço, que vai enfrentar muitas dificuldades na sua vida   青年よ、あなたの人生においては、多難に立ち向かうことになるから、用心しなさいよ。

・nas barbas de  =under the nose of, in the very presence of   目の前で。

Ex. Os bandidos assaltaram a joalha nas barbas da polícia.

強盗は警察の目の前で宝石店を襲った。

[barbante]

・balançar o barbante  =score a goal [サッカーで]得点する、ゴールする。

・ter barbas   = to be old, be stale  古いことである。過ぎたことである。

[barco]

・aguentar o barco(rojão)  =face the music, stand  the racket

苦境にたえる、堂々と批判を受ける、報いを甘んじて受ける。

●aguentar=segurar

・deixar o barco corer  =deixar correr o barco　=let thinga drift, take things easy, let things slide , let it be, wait and see what happens, let it ride  

成り行きにまかせる、のんきにかまえる。

・estar no mesmo barco  = to be in the same boat, share the same predicament 

同じ船に乗り合わせる、  同じ状況にある。

Ex. É bom vocês colaborarem comigo, que estamos todos no mesmo barco.

僕たちは同じ状況にあるから、君たちは僕と協力するのが良い。

注記: colaborarem はcolaborarの人称不定法。

・vai-se tocando o barco=vai-se remando  =just getting along

どうにかやっている、暮らしている。

●Como vai？の挨拶に応えるかたちの表現。

[barra]

・a barra leve  = the good neighborhood, safe environment 安全な環境、良い場所。

Ex. Não se preocupe, que onde eu moro não é favela --- é barra leve.

心配しないでもいいよ、だって僕の住んでいるところはファヴェーラじゃなくて、治安の良い環境だから。

・sujar a barra de alguém  =malign someone   人をけなす、そしる、中傷する。

・Como está [vai] a barra？  =How is it going？How is everything？

いかがですか?うまく行っていますか?

Ex. Como está ？Tudo joía？  お元気ですか？万事好調ですか?

・de barra pesada   = shady, disreputable, dangerous

うさんくさい、いかがわしい、怪しい。

●=barra-pesada

・vir à barra   =appear before the bar of justice 裁判を受ける、出廷する。

[barraca]

・armar a barraca　　=pitch the tent　テントを張る。

・desarmar a barranca　= strike the tent　テントをはずす。

[barriga]

・barriga vazia não tem alegria　= a hungry man, an angry man, an empty stomach

(bellly) has no ears　　空腹の人、お腹が空いている人、怒っている人、、

「腹がへっては道理も聞こえぬ」※

※「衣食足って礼節を知る」。

・de barriga para o ar　=belly-up, lying on one’s　back

破産した、打ちのめされた、仰向けに横たわる。

・estar com a barriga a dar horas  =be hungry  ひもじい、空腹である。

・estar com a barriga no espinhaço  = be extremely thin 極端に痩せている、飢えている。

[barriguda]

・estar barriguda  = to be pregnant  妊娠している、腹が出ている。

Ex. Não tenho filhos ainda, mas vou ter, pois a minha esposa está barriguda. 

私にはまだ子供はいないが、持つことになる。妻が妊娠しているから。

●=estar de barriga

[barril]

・o barril de chope  = the fat person, butterr-ball

ビール腹、ずんぐりした人、太っている人。

Ex. Aquele barril de chope não condegui passar pela janelinha.

あの出っ腹の人は小さな窓を通ることができない。

[barulho]

・fazer (um)barulho  = to raise a ruckus, create a commotion, make a fuss

騒ぎを起こす、騒音を立てる。

Ex. Uns penetras furaram a festa e começaram a fazer um barulho danado.

ある無断で入場する人たちは祭りをダメにして、ひどい騒ぎを起こし始めた。

●estar com um barulho→ 音を立てている。

・ser do barulho = to be terrific, be outstanding 素晴らしい、並外れている。

[base]

・é tudo na base de  =it’s all a matter of, it’s all based on

〜に全て基づいている、〜が全て基礎である。

Ex. Capoeira, uma das culturas afro-brasileira é tudo na base do ritmo do berimbau.  アフロブラジル文化の一つであるカポエィラは、全てベリンバウのリズムが基礎になっている。

・na base do Escondido = on the sly, secretl  こそこそと、内緒で、秘密に。

・na base do feijão com arroz  =in a fixed and regular way

ありふれたものをベースにして。

[basta]

・dar o (um) basta [em]  = to put an end [to], put a stop [to]

終わらせる、中止、休止、停止させる。

Ex. O professor chegou e deu um basta na briga. 先生が来て、喧嘩をやめさせた。

[batalha]

・a Batalha  =the work, job, livelihood 本来、戦いの意味であるが、仕事、生業を指すこともある。

Ex. Meu primo passa o dia todo na batalha. 私の従兄は一日中仕事をして過ごす。

[batata]

・a batata quente  =the hot potato, annoying problem, troublesome or controversial issue  面倒な、厄介な問題。

・na batata

かっきり、時間通り、正確に、確実に、間違いなく。

Ex. Não se preocupe muito, pois se resolve na batata.

そんなに心配しないで。間違いなく解決されるから。

・ser batata  = to be exact, be on the nose, be precise  ぴったりである、きっかりである。

Ex. É batata---500 yens.  ぴったり500円です。

・ser batata que = to be certain that, be defenite that  〜が確実である。

Ex. É batata que o candidato vai ser o president do partido político.

その候補が政党の総裁になることを確実である。

[bate-boca]

・o bate-boca  =the heated argument, shouting match  口論、口喧嘩。

Ex. A filha teve um bate-boca com a vizinhança.

その女の子は近所のおばさんと口論した。

[bate-caixa]

・o bate-caixa  =the chat, conversation  おしゃべり。

●= bate-papo。おしゃべりする →bater papo.　類似の表現として ter um bate-papo →愛想よく会話する、もある。

Ex. Minha distraição é bater papo com a namorada.

私の気晴らしは恋人とおしゃべりすることです。

[batedor]

・o batedor de carteiras  =the pickpocket  スリ

Ex. Anda com cuidado, meu filho, pois o meterô está cheio de batedores de carteiras.  倅よ、地下鉄はスリがいっぱいいるから、用心しなさいよ。
