[argumento]

・um argumento decisive　=a knok-down argument　打倒する、高飛車な、強引な議論。

[arma]

・arma branca　=side-arm, cold steel　白兵、刀剣類。

・Ás armas！　=to arms！　戦闘準備！武器を取れ！

・com armas e bagagens　=bag and baggage, stock　and barrel, neck and crop

完全に、全体的に。

・depor as armas　=lay 又はthrow down one’s　arms 武器を捨てる、降伏する。

・ensarilhar armas =stack arms 戦いをやめる; 降伏する; 銃をピラミッド形に立てる

。

・pegar em armas =take up arms 武器を取る; 軍人になる。

・pelas armas =by force of arms 武器、軍事力によって。

[armado]

・armado até os dentes =armed to the teeth, be heavily armed 完全武装して。

●A guerrilha metia medo em todo mundo; estava armada até os dentes.

ゲリラ部隊はみんなを怖がらせていた;(それは)完全武装していた(から)。

meter medo→怖がらせる、驚かせる。

[arrancar]

・arrancar os cabelos =to tear one’s hair out, be beside oneself with anger,

be furious (絶望、激しい怒りなどで)かきむしる、髪をかきむしらんばかりに怒り狂う

、憤る。

Ex. O avô arrancou os cabelos quando soube o assédio sexual do neto.

その祖父は、孫のセクシャルハラスメントを知って怒り狂った。

※下記の慣用表現をオミットしていましたので、加えておきます。

[arrastar]

・arrastar a asa a又はpara alguém =to woo, court 〜を口説く、媚を売る、〜に言い

寄る。

Ex. Aquele homem anda arrastando a asa para uma estudante de faculdade.

あの男は学部の女子学生に言い寄っている。

・arrastar o pé =to dance ダンスする

●A noite passada arrastávamos o pé naquela boate da Rua Laranjeira.

昨晩私たちはラランジェイラ通りのナイトクラブでダンスをしていた。

・arrastar pela lama =to slander, sling mud at, rake over the coals

〜を罵る、誹謗中傷する、大目玉をくわす、厳しく叱責する。

　Ex. O representante do partido da oposição arrastou pela lama no discurso

político todos os deputados do partido governamental.

政治演説のなかで野党の代表は与党の全ての下院議員を罵った。

[arredar]

・arredar pé =to leave, take off, go away 去る、退却する。

Ex.Tínhamos que arredar pé, que já estava na hora.

もう時間だったので、私たちは去らねばならなかった。

[arrepiar]

・arrepiar carreira =to turn back, run away,turn tail

後戻りする;逃げ出す;前言をひるがえす。

・ser de arrepiar (o cabelo) =to be hair-raising, be frightening

身の毛がよだつ、ぞっとする。

Ex. O filme de anteontem foi de arrepiar (o cabelo).

一昨日の映画は背筋が寒くなるものであった。

●=de cabelo（s) em pé,

ficar de cabelos em pé。

[arriscar ]

・arriscar a pele =to stick one’s neck out 危険を冒す、冒険をする。

Ex. Não vou arriscar a pele por essa garota.

その女の子のために僕は危険を冒すことはしてない。

[arromba]

・de arromba =great, terrific 素晴らしい、驚くべき。

Ex.Você realmente perdeu uma festa de arromba ontem.

君は本当に昨日の素晴らしいパーティーの機会を失ったよ。

[arrotar ]

・arrotargrandeza =to brag, boast, boast of 大物ぶりを吹聴する。

Ex. Os fidalgos passavam a maior parte do tempo naquela época arrotando

grandeza.

あの時代に貴族たちは大物ぶりを吹聴しながら、大半を過ごしていた。

[arrumar]

・arrumar a trouxa =to pack one’s bag, take off 立ち去る

●arrumarに代わってfazerでも可能。

Ex. Se o negócio não der certo, pretendo arrumar a trouxa.

商売が上手くいかなければ、私は立ち去るつもりです。der(接続法・未来形)certo→dar

certo=上手くいく、的中する。

[arte]

・fazer arte =to make mischief, act up 悪さをする、いたずらする。

Ex. Quando chegarem as

visitas, nada de fazer arte, meu filho, viu？

来客がお着きになれば、おまえさんは悪さをしてはダメだよ、いいかい？

nada de ＋不定詞=〜してはいけない、〜するのはご法度である。

※以上[arr〜artの間]が欠落していました。加えて頂きたく存じます。

[ata-não-desata]

・o ata-não-desata =the wishy-wishy person,namby-pamby

優柔不断な人、煮え切らない人、決断力のない人。

●=o chove-não-molha．

Ex. Aquele moço fica no chove não molha e nunca decide pedir mão.

あの青年は煮え切れず、求婚に踏み切れないでいる。

[ataque]

・ter um ataque =to have a fit, get upset ものすごく怒る、激怒りする。

Ex. Aquela senhora teve um ataque quando soube deliquência da filha.

あの奥さんは娘の非行を知って激怒した。

・ter um ataque de riso =to die of laughter, burst out laughing 死ぬほど笑う。

●=morrer de rir又はriso。rirを使ったこの種の表現は他に、

rir até chorar=涙が出るほど笑う

rir forçado=苦笑いする

rir às gargalhadas, rebentar de riso=呵呵大笑、抱腹絶倒する

[atar]

・não atar nem desatar =to be wishy-wishy, be indecisive 優柔不断である。

●Pessoalmente eu não posso confiar naquele cara---não ata nem desata.

煮え切らないあいつを僕は個人的に信頼できない。

[até]

・até que enfim =finally 最後に、とうとう、やっと。

[atenção]

・em atenção a =in consideration of, in view of, out of regard for

〜を考慮・配慮して、〜に応じて。

・prestar又はdar atenção =pay atention , take notice, pay heed (to)

〜に注意を払う。

[aterragem]

・aterragem又はaterissa-

gem de barriga =pancake landing 平落ち着陸、着陸の時に失速して水平に機尾から

落下すること。

・arerragemまたはaterri-

sagem de emergência =emergency landing 緊急着陸

[atiçar]

・atiçar o fogo =to fuel the fire 火を煽る、火に油を注ぐ。

●=botar lenha no fogo, colocar lenha na fogueira, deitar azeite no lume

[atirar]

・atirar no que viu e acertar no que não viu.

直訳すれば、見たものを撃ち、見なかったものを的中させる→うれしい誤算である、兎の

わなに狐がかかる。

Ex. Aquele homem atirou no que viu e matou o que　não viu, pois acabou casa-

com a irmã de quem primeiro namorou.

あの男にはうれしい誤算だった。なぜなら最初に恋した妹と最後には結婚したのだから

。　

・atirar em alguém à que-

ima-roupa　=fire point-blank at somebody　　直射する。

[atitude]　

・manter atitudes antagô-

nicas (a mesma pessoas)　=have it both ways

相反する二つのことを同時にする、態度をはっきりさせない。

・mudar de attitude　　=change one’ mind, change one’s tune, sing a different

tune, dance to　another tune　(話、態度などの)調子を急に変える。

[atividade]

・em (plena)atividade　　=on the go, in full swing　　活動中の、現役の。

●cantor em atividqde→現役歌手、vulcão em atividade →活火山

[ato]

・ato contínuo　=immediately, thereafter　直ちに、すぐに。

・fazer ato de presença　=put in an appearance　式や会合などに[義務や儀礼上]顔を

だけ出す。

・no ato　=on the spot, there and then　即座に、すぐその場で。

[à toa]

・à-@ toa　=useless, insigficant, good-for-nothing

役に立たない、価値のない、毒にも薬にもならない。名詞→ろくでなし、やくざもの。

Ex. Ele é um cara à-toa.　彼はろくでなしだ。

●à toa(①あてもなく、何の考えもなく②何となく、これといった理由もなく③むだに)

と混同しないこと。

[atraso]

・fall into arreas(fail to pay instalments)　滞る。

[atravessando]

・estar atravessando com　alguém　=be at odds with someone

〜と不和である、仲たがいしている、争っている。

Ex. Estou atravessando com ele, pois ele tem an-

dado me malhando ultimamente.彼が最近、僕をこき下ろしているので、彼とは仲たがい

している。

・ter ＋人・事物atravessado na garganta　= not to be able to stomach someone

〜がしゃくにさわる､〜に恨みを感じる。

Ex.Tenho esse chato atravessado garganta.僕はそのうんざりさせることが癪なのさ。

[atrevimento]

・Que atrevimento！　=What a nerve！　何と図々しい！

・ter (o) atrevimento de　=have a neck to, have the　nerve to, have the face to

・厚かましくも[図々しくも]〜する。

[atritar-se]

・atritar-se com　　=to have it out with, fight　with , have a disagreement

with　

〜と不和である、仲たがいしている、争う。

Ex. Minha mãe se atritou　novamente a vizinha da　esquina.

母は再び角の近隣の人と仲たがいした。

[atribuição]

・Isso não está nas m-nhas atribuições　=that does not lie within　my

province(powers, competence)

わたしの力、能力の及ぶものではない、私の責任ではない。

●=Isso não compete a　mim.

[atrito]

・o atrito　=the fight, disagreement,friction, clash　摩擦、不和、あつれき。

Ex. Há muitos atritos no　governo de Ishiba. 石破政権では多くの軋轢がある。

[audácia]

・ter a audácia de　=have a cheek to, have the　face to, have a brazen to

厚かましくも〜する、図々しくも〜する。

[auge]

・estar no auge de　=be at the zenith of 　絶頂にある。

・estar no auge do sucesso　=be in the limelight

人目を引いている、目立っている、舞台で集中照明を受けている。

・no auge　=at the full　まっ盛りに、絶頂に。

・no auge da excitação　=all in a flutter　興奮してどきどきしている、胸騒ぎがす

る。

・no auge do entusiasmo　=in full swin　最高潮で、真っ盛りで、たけなわで。
